OPHEA is such a useful resource for teachers, especially when it comes to planning and assessing lessons. For the OPHEA lesson plan I had created for class, I was able to use a detailed assessment tool for sending and receiving beanbags in grade 1 (which is shown below). Note that the specific expectations and success criteria are noted in this piece of document to remind the teacher of the learning focus and goal.
Achievement Chart
Apart from using OPHEA as an assessment tool, using the Achievement Chart in the HPE curriculum is essential in creating learning goals, success criteria.
Using the Achievement Chart is necessary when assessing for learning, assessing as learning, and assessing of learning.

Diagnostic, Formative and Summative Assessment
Diagnostic assessment is a great way to assess students’ prior knowledge and figure out what needs to be taught to get them to accomplish the learning goals and focus for the unit. Using a diagnostic and formative assessment (With perhaps a summative assessment) helps teachers clearly document the growth of the students.
